But when I played open strings (B,D,A) , there was a strange metal buzz\/rattle (not fret buzz , I checked it).Turned out to be the nut (cheapish- generic material from the factory) that caused all this horrible noise (note: I play with daddario xl 11 to 49) &#8230; So strongly recommend swapping this out for a tusq xl one from graph tech <\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"inner text-original js-text-original\" lang=\"en\" data-orig-lang=\"en\"> A must-have for heavy rhythm players. This has replaced a super-Strat (that cost over twice as much) as my main instrument for punk and metal. They could charge double the cost for this instrument and I would still buy one. The pickups carry a lot of punch and work very well with my Marshall DSL and Peavey 6505. Amazing quality ,BIG sound distortion and clean. The feeling of the instrument is something else. The neck is smooth like velvet. Amazing instrument. <\/p>\n<p>Update after 20 days of having the instrument: <br \/>The instrument introduced neck pocket cracks. Hair thin cracks from both bass and treble sides. Charvel told me that this is normal and that this has to do with the neck settling(i &#8216;ve spoken with many people having Charvels and no one said that they have cracks, they were kind enough to send me pics as well). Thomann told me that they can check the guitar and either replace it or refund it ,but the refund amount won&#8217;t be the same because i do not have the box of the guitar. Very disappointed, how should i know if the guitar will have issues out of the blue after 20 days, i kept the box for the first week since i have the Charvel original case. I was not expecting an answer like that from Thomann for an issue that probably was due to poor packaging. Very disappointed. FYI this was the 2nd guitar i received from Thomann ,as the first one came with many issues, and in the first 20 minutes was back in its box and sent back. <\/p>\n<p>Note: the guitar was since day 1 in its case and in upright position in a special stand as all my other guitars. Well made in general, looks more expensive then it actually is. Pickups are cool, body is finished beautifully, intonation and action set pretty good too, the neck is magic &#8230;. <\/p>\n<p>The bad (annoying) stuff: <br \/>&#8230; until you use that neck more then five times. The damned thing doesn&#8217;t have any finish. Any. I consider myself a very clean person, i cannot touch a guitar without washing my hands first, but the neck fretboard and back started to turn black after just a two gigs. <br \/>I am all in for the vintage feel and look, but i got the feeling, that if this was not fixed, the guitars neck would look 40 years old in a year. Neglected for 40 years neck, rather then worn, nice vintage use look. The neck was also absorbing all the oils possible from the palm and cleaning attempts. <\/p>\n<p>I looked everywhere for the solution and found out that no amount of 000 steel wool cannot fix the problem permanently. Whatever you do, don&#8217;t believe the lemon (or any other) oil nonsense advice found online. I am so glad I didn&#8217;t apply any of it, because it would ruin the neck forever. <\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I invested in a proper finish and now the guitar is awesome. <\/p>\n<p>Just take that 150 &#8211; 300 eur extra in account when you buy it. <br \/>1100 is still a bargain for a piece like this. <\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Comment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"inner text-original js-text-original\" lang=\"en\" data-orig-lang=\"en\"> Really love the pickups and the split sounds . <br \/>The neck is awesome and everything works and feels great !
