It looks good, and it sounds good, but when I looked closer, particularly on the neck of the model I got, the finishing is far from perfect.
On the part where the nut joins the neck, it has irregular surface finishing; On the lower part of the neck (bridge side), the fretboard has minor scratches on its sides, and the fretboard surface has some irregularities, like it was randomly rasped on some places, it also has minor traces of glue marks visible near some frets, also one nut control is a bit bent.
Those are cosmetic flaws, they bothered me, but don’t interfere with playing the instrument.
Plus the metal screws are so soft, they will get damaged at the slightest contact with a screwdriver. One of the bridge screws was particularly stuck and its head got destroyed just for doing that string’s intonation. Very, very bad material.
Another thing that bothered me, was one fret that came a bit higher than it should, causing fret buzz near the 12th fret on the lower E string; That one was a very unpleasant surprise; I solved that partially on the setup, but because of that, the action had to be set a bit higher than desired.
I kept it, to save me the hassle of sending it back, and because I really liked its design.
After a long setup, it plays nice, and serves the purpose, but honestly, I wouldn’t buy it again, not with all those issues.

First impressions were positive. The guitar is beautiful and overall the finish is well done.
Great sound. But over time, I noticed flaws. The headstock is covered with a very thick layer of varnish. On my guitar, the varnish even cracked at the junction with the nut. Also I’ve never seen such shabby strings on a new guitar. They look like they’ve been played for years. The chatter on the sixth string upset most of all. And this is despite the fact that the strings are high enough. Very low quality metal. It literally crumbles after contact with a screwdriver.
If you are going to buy this guitar, pay attention to the fact that it is really heavy and very unusual in shape. This makes playing sitting rather uncomfortable. Maybe you just need to get used to it. If it weren’t for the rattle on the 6th string, I would have put 4 stars instead of 3.

The neck is a thin D shape and its very confortable even for faster pieces and for me its a good shape both for legato and fast stuff but also good for chords as well. Maybe the only thing is the bridge humbucker, it could have been a little stronger in voice, but as said this guitar is suited best for overdriven, fuzzy sounds, jazz is super clean too especially when splitted on neck :O . Metal is possible, but it lacks a little crunch. What i admire is that strings stay in tuned for long even for continuous bendings and SUSTAIN, this baby keeps resonating FOREVER. For the price (599), beauty, exclusivity ( Hagstrom is not a very famous brand), and the sound is awesome for the genres I said above. The guitar arrived in perfect shape and I just needed to tune the guitar and started to play right away. THANKS THOMANN

This guitar is perfect for me! It looks fantastic, plays great, and can handle almost anything you throw at it.
If you are used to EMGs or Seymour Duncan pickups, this guitar will offer you a new sound that might just become your favorite.
Pros:

– Comfortable neck – between a strat and an LP

Cons:
– The flamed maple finish I got isn’t as detailed and pronounced as the one in the pictures or in the Youtube reviews I watched. It’s still stunning, but not as I expected.
– The wiring and pick up selector placement need some getting used to.
– Could use a volute at the usual neck breaking angle

Hadling and packaging was ugly, the carton was broken but luckily everthing was fine inside.
Guitar was not been prepared, I mean all the cordr were not been micro-tuned (sorry for the invented word) I mean once I tune the empty cords, if I check on the 12th they are all out of tune….

Pros:
Sustain for days
Pickups sound great, the coil split works well and you get a nice single coil-esque sound for clean/overdriven stuff, anything higher gain and the difference is negligible, which is fine.
Neck feels good, feels solid and is a good shape, the satin finish is lovely.
Overall the guitar looks beautiful.
Cons:
Some sharpish fret ends especially past about the 15th fret on the side of the top strings. This can be rectified easily enough.
Pots are a bit scratchy, some contact cleaner should clear that right up.
I swapped the strap buttons for Loxx strap locks and when I removed one of the stock ones I could see a chip out of the finish from when the hole was drilled, this is covered by the felt washer however so not a huge issue.
Knobs don’t seem to sit on the pots great, I adjusted them as well as possible.
The volume curve isnt flat, it goes from 0-60% with only a tiny twist then ramps up for the rest of the rotation, swells would be impossible.
The control cavity doesn’t appear to be shielded. A quick application of sheilding paint would sort that
Neutral points:
Quite a heavy guitar, but that’s up to personal preference, Im fine with it.
Volume pots are positioned in the opposite of what id expect, but that can be changed easily.
Final thoughts: the cons above don’t really detract from an amazing sounding, feeling, and looking guitar and most are easily remedied. For the price, in my opinion you are getting a better guitar than a Gibson costing 3 or 4 times the amount.
