Guild S-100:
Lovely finished (awesome paint job, neck etc.), very minor fret problems. Good setup straight out from the box, (except 12th fret vs. flute sound). Only lifted the mics tiny bit.
Not the thinnest neck but feels ok.
Darkish vintage mics, I’d say, since they are straight copy from ones in 70’s.
I’ll change strings maybe to 11-52 in near future (few hours). Maybe D standard tune
Pots aren’t working properly yet and I’d like linear type more.
Overall feels like quality product: 8,5/10 🙂

– fret finish and pots
+Paint finish & overall quality
+Lovely little details you don’t find in some other brands.

This is my first electric guitar. I am an amateur beginner and a late starter. I bought this guitar because I am a Soundgarden fan and it is the same type of guitar as played by their lead guitarist Kim Thayil. The guitar is a beautiful thing. It’s a big jump up in build quality from my Crafter acoustic. It looks great, and I am making the noises I hoped to make with it. I like the plated pickups and bridge and the fact that the quality knobs are labeled. It came with its own hard case. I do not have enough talent to tell you anything more but if you are looking for something that looks and feels solid and plays easily this will work. I read some complaints that it is uncomfortable sitting down but for me this has proved not to be true and is actually more comfortable than a couple of Gibson’s LPs and a Fender that I tried. A satisfied customer!
