I am absolutely delighted with this guitar. It is perfect.
While it is a bit on the heavy side, which is something I like, it is also well balanced. The finish is flawless and beautiful.
It is pretty straight forward, with only one volume knob and one humbucker, which is also something I was looking for and sounds great. I was thinking about upgrading the humbucker but I don’t think I will, afterall!
The guitar arrived in great condition. Excluding the high end guitars, this is, surely, the best I got from Thomann.
Without a doubt, the best you can get for a budget instrument. It feels like a far more expensive piece.

I am really, really satisfied and I can’t recommend it enough.

Amazing sound and playability for the price. The Kramer is the best cheap guitar I’ve played and I played, owned and tested many.

Pros: The neck is perfect. Fretwork is perfect. Action can be set low without dead spots and without buzzing. Fast comfortable neck with smooth satin finish. The neck is not too wide and pretty thin. This thing plays like a dream. The high output pickup sounds very good. Powerful, warm not harsh and wel balanced. Perfect for rock and classic metal. Sounds good clean too.
Cons: The Vintage White isn’t white. It’s ugly yellowish. I really don’t like the colour, bummer! The vintage tremolo system is cheap and doesn’t really work. Hey, that’s to be expected, these things never work well. Set it up as tight as you can, don’t use the wammy and you’re ok. Tuners are cheap but do the job, could be better
It’s a simple guitar, not many features. What you see is what you get. I do miss a tone-knob. If I keep it I will put one in.

So far: Really good but really ugly.

I really, really wanted this maple neck on mahogany body Indonesian, built in 2020, after stripping down to essentials (1 bridge pickup, 1 volume) many other guitars. Just to turn up the volume and try licks for hours and hours – no fiddling with a 5-way switch, tone setup, tremolo.

Thinner than a basswood/alder/poplar, with rounded edges and the body has a lot of sustain, even though by not having extra cavities for neck and middle pickups – the electronics cavity is quite large.

I found the neck with 2-parts angled headstock and a large joint inviting the hand to move up and down, maybe because of the non-compound 12 inches radius (sic!) – thinner than a C-shape, thicker than a Gio or JS equivalent. Not 24 frets – so what ? Laquered, not oiled, but not in a glossy style.

Pickup – I bet the average ear will not find the differences from a real JB, either clear or distorted – I didn’t.

Tremolo – just to be ignored and used as a hardtail (pity that the iconic heritage led to maintaining this part).

Tuning keys – on my guitar are regularly going out of tune, even not played aggressively and the knob screws tightened.

Out-of-the box, the truss rod, action (surprisingly low for an entry level factory setup) and pickup height were fine for me.

Electronics and grounding – one will want to change the volume pot or at least to use a drop of kontakt und tuner spray to avoid the noises it generates, and to cut the excess of wiring.

Painting: no flaws found. Color didn’t count for buying.

Barreta Special might not be the ideal all-round-your-first-electric-guitar, but those looking for simplicity of playing and sound will add it on the wish list.

I orderd this Baretta in order to updgrade it a little. Didn’t have to do much. Changed the volume knob, tuning machines and the bridge. The pickup actually sounds amazing, I have a Kramer ’84 with a Seymour Duncan which sounds amazing and still the Baretta Special sounds killer too. The bridge was kind of standart Strato style and I changed it for a VegaTrem Vt1 UltraTrem. Easy to install by the way. I installed Schaller locking Tuners M6 and changed the knob for a Q-parts Dome with Abalone. The action is set perfectly, ready to shred. Neck feels amazing, soft and slim. Intonation is perfect. Woods are great, maple neck is good quality and the mahagony body delivers a lot of sound. Note that the head is glued with the neck, and still it is made very clever to avoid any weakness right on the spot where the neck ends and the head starts. They moved to joint a little up. Looks good tow. Price is amazing for this great sounding guitar. All you need to do is a few upgrades here and there and ready to rock where ever you want. Finish is amazing, nothing sloppy. Very accurate and nicely finished.

Where to start.
I decided to purchase a new back up guitar as i was tired of my ( Insert Brand name guitar) Slipping out and of course as you all know what happens when a string goes on a floyd rose ? .. When you hear the term " You get what you pay for" let me just say this Kramer guitar totaly defies all that ego statisical nonsence for the buget price you would expect a really cheap guitar ( believe me it’s not )and this guitar holds up and stands on it’s own in my opinion it plays 100x better than my so called Name Brand guitar.

From the moment i unpacked it i gave it a quick strum ( yes i tuned it 1st) The action was next to perfect and sounded so smooth.I just had to plug this guitar into my house amp and try it.Omg on the clean channel it is just beautiful and my distortion it gave me a warm Rock/Metal sound.Of course i had to shred a little on it and the 22frets are perfectly spaced as i have large fingers. My only con with this guitar was is when you pull the trem the G goes out completly (but hey it don’t take a genius to sort that lol)
I used the guitar at a recent show
and holy hell!! This guitar through my live rig what a sound it gives of at 11 no screaching pick ups the feedback can be cut instantly and everything is just crystal clear
In my Opinion well done to Kramer Guitars 10/10 and it’s got me questioning what the higher end guitars are like and Thomann 10/10 for their amazing service.
Can not thank both enough and i will continue to use your products.

Well, if not better than a bang. This is an amazing guitar considering the price. I’ve had many different guitars, but this has become my daily driver for the past few weeks. The neck feels and plays amazing and the guitar sounds really well. The tuners aren’t exactly topnotch, but what’s to expect for 179 euro’s? Get this axe while you can!

I was suprised by the sound of this guitar. The 2 Seymour Duncan Humbucker pickups don’t scream as much as I thought they would but this to me is not a bad thing. I like the single coil sound of a Fender strat and you kind of get this when you pull the volume knob out (paralleling the 2 coils of the Humbucker pickup – great feature of this guitar). When the coils are in series (volume knob normal) you get a bit more punch. Ive never owned a guitar made entirely out of mapel and I suspect this is the reason the guitar sound suprised me as much as it did. The overall quality of the guitar is good for the price bracket. I have tortured the Floyd Rose and it doesn’t go out of tune which is the least I expect but dont always get. Paint job is 80’s to the core which gives a fun feel to it when playing. I like this feeling. I like this guitar.

Comment:

I expected it to be a pretty good guitar, considering the price and name on the headstock, but was completely blown away by the feel of it. The pickups sound great and coil split is a nice touch too. The neck is one of the few necks chunky enough for my hand to fit around without feeling like I’m holding a twig and the trem system is IMPOSSIBLE to get out of tune. It also looks awesome which for a guitar like this just completes it.

The only issues I had were the frets being slightly rough and the strings it came with not being my choice, but both are easily fixed and it plays better than any of my other guitars.

Overall, great sound, great feel and a great look. Worth the money and more!

Hi everyone, i just bought and received this beautiful guitar and i wanted to share my excitement; first of all i’d like to thank Thomann for their service, the guitar arrived in few days and was very well packed. Let’s move on and talk a bit about the guitar itself: as i opened the box i couldn’t believe my eyes, the guitar looked very well built and i immediatly got feedback as soon as i picked it up. The guitar is solid and light as a feather at the same time, the paintjob is absolutely flawless with no imperfections. I tuned it first and started fooling around: very good resonance even if unplugged. At first it struggled a bit to hold the tuning, but after re-tuning it a couple of times it worked fine. The trem was blocked (for the shipping i guess, you need to unlock it after you receive the guitar) and still is, so i have no feedback about it , i’m not too worried though as i’m planning to replace it. Keep in mind we’re talking about a ST style tremolo, so dive bombs and so on will surely send your guitar out of tune. The stock pickup (SD replica) sounds awesome, one of the few stock pickups giving me something to think about whether i should replace it or not.
This is IMO what you get from the Baretta Special and most importantly for very little money, a very basic guitar (1 pickup, volume control and a trem) that is already way better than guitars costing twice (or more) the price. If you don’t like some of the hardware, keep in mind that you can change it spending less than other finished intruments anyways and with a high end result. Grab it while you can, it’s very hard to find it in stock generally and when it’s available it’s going to last a couple of days.

Didn’t have high expectations, but I was very pleased…
The tremolo … is the bottleneck here.. But i don’t use it anyway…
Pickups sounds a bit like a DiMarzio , the neck plays like a Ibanez Wizard neck.. I’m really happy with her…

overall good, but would like to improve the details. The frets are not polished, the edges cut the hand, the strings are terrible, immediately ejected, the 0 fret nut is made poorly, the grooves are badly bored, I fell for the color, it is gorgeous, the sound is good, the tuning pegs are good, the bridge seat screws are too long, dear manufacturers – use the most small screws, nobody puts strings thicker than 10-52, I think that for this price the neck and fret parts should be better.
