This is a very nice Guitar and is easy to play, it has great tone played acoustic and plugged in.
It arrived in good time and was well packed. It played right out of the box but was tuned a semitone down so I re-tuned it to concert pitch?

PROS
Very low action, easy to play, great sound, bone saddle & nut, the CTP-3 Pre amp has nice features and works well.

CONS
I was very disappointed to find the batteries in the Pre Amp were completely flat. Had to buy new Batts. before I could play it.

There was no "User Guide" with the Guitar. It would be nice to have an instruction guide for the Pre Amp at least…

The Pre Amp is located very low on the Guitar?s shoulder & should be higher up, I have to tilt the Guitar to see the Tuner properly.

The Batteries are located under the Pre Amp face, you have to take the whole Pre Amp out to get to the Battery compartment. I feel that the clips on the Pre Amp & the clips on the Battery box are very flimsy & I don?t think they will last very long.

The battery compartment is ok for Alkaline Batteries but is very tight for rechargeable Batts. The Pre Amp will work with rechargeable Batts. but will not take high m/a Batts?

I find the lack of String Pins on the bridge a problem for two reasons, First, it is not possible to Capo the first fret & take the strings out for access to the Saddle or the back of the Pre Amp?

Second, When I am ?Flat Picking? I like to rest the side of my palm on the String Pins?.If I were buying a new Takamine I would buy the P5-DC?

One of the best acoustic guitars I’ve had. Right from the build quality to the sound quality, its all absolutely fantastic. One thing though is that the action was a bit high for my liking but that sorted out by filing the bridge a bit. Totally loved the electronics and the tube just sounded fantastic. Highly recommended
