I must admit I had been a bit disappointed. The DELAY ended up being more of an effects unit that would be used standalone with good results. That one… not so much.
First of all, this 1 works more effectively when it is actually PLAYED rather than just making strange noises. But also for MIDI it’s rather limited until you mod it. The ribbon that is tiny; worked great for making effects using the DELAY however a great deal for really playing melodies with this DUO variation.
most of the mojo associated with the DELAY was… well, the delay. Remove the wait also it quickly destroyed it’s charm as a standalone device (although the filter had been excellent!). The DUO just doesn’t wow me up to a device that is standalone. It really has to be used along with other results to have the very best out of it for me. Then it quickly gets less interesting because you might as well start patching up a larger and better synth.
The strength of the DELAY ended up being it was instantly enjoyable and usable, even when used as a standalone device. Simply patch it straight into a console or DI and you’ll get noises that are great. The DUO seriously isn’t extremely exciting unless it is prepared by outside impacts for me. It is effectiveness normally severly restricted to having less midi connections.
Get the DELAY instead.

I believe it’s a bit of a mix between a toy, and effect box and a instrument that is real. The filter, the oscillators and also the noise are great, but a few things prevent me personally from taking it too seriously. Firstly, the ribbon that is small is pretty hard to play if you’d like to play melodies along with it. The second thing could be the noisy output, leaving a moderate level of hiss to every thing coming out of it.
I’d explain it as a gadget that is cool can truly add spice to your music, or be enjoyable to just experiment with and produce a variety of strange and wonderful sounds. Can’t overcome the cost considering it is fully analog!
