I actually like this keyboard. It feels well-made and contains many features which are good. I love though it isn’t quite complete that it has a profile for REAPER – also. I additionally love that it has 37 keys which are full-size. You will find not many controllers obtainable in this structure however it suits a house studio a lot better than 25 key or mini-key controllers, to my mind.

The downsides are:
– The octave shift does not let you know exactly how many octaves you’ve shifted, just the direction
– at the very least for Reaper the ribbon controller doesn’t control volumes, though it can do pan
– The manual is a bit lacking and out-of -date.
Other than these points the only real other thing to note is the fact that default velocity bend is over-sensitive – everything happens at high velocities being MIDI. I set it to Curve 5, which will be much better and as good as my previous controller.

Overall it is top quality and high functionality for the purchase price, although some may miss several assignable controllers.

Comment:

the keyboard itself ended up being fine but unfortuitously the settings is where it fell brief. it had a practice of resetting to default when working with it with either a vst instrument using the pc while the same outcome when working with a midi module. the corporation need to up their game regarding the programming of the controller to make it run even more accurately and smoother in managing other midi products and instruments that are vst. for these reasons I cant provide it more than a 2 away from 5.

The keys are just a little tight.
Probably a matter of habit.
In all other respects they are good

I’m very disappointed during the quality with this keyboard. It had broken at the point in which the real keyboard connects to the module because of the buttons and whatnot on it whenever it first arrived. Now I have the idea behind this, demonstrably Icon are incredibly desperate to manufacture their keyboards since cheaply as you possibly can them together which they just make a set of modules and a couple of keyboards of different types and just screw. Great the theory is that, however in training the screws mounting the two together are simply far too weak and you wind up with a fail point. I got another one from Thomann (genuinely, a refund would was chosen by me personally but there you get), only to discover that I can not also get the buttons to work alongside my DAW. Well at the very least the fundamental functions such as the pitch wheel and switch that is octave work. Plus it does just take a great deal up less room on my desk. But overall, I wished I’d ordered something else like an M-Audio.

IMO this product doesn’t make sense because it is commercialized as a piano design 88 notes keyboard but it doesn’t provide this function. The keyboard is beautiful and stylish, but as soon you could not play Piano nor Pianissimo as I link it to Pianoteq and Keyscape I discovered. It just does Forte and Fortissimo. The sensitiveness of each note is too hard and is particularly perhaps not exact at all.
Even changing the several velocity curves the keyboard has, and establishing the velocity curves as slow in Pianoteq I wasn’t in a position to create any decent piano noises. The result is an extremely robotic and sound that is unexpressivefrom the libraries demonstrably). This isn’t a keyboard for pianists. This may serve as a controller that is daw to trigger samples etc. or as as attractive keyboard, because it?s very gorgeous and looks well built, although not to try out expressive instruments that want exact sensitivity similar to any high end piano software like Pianoteq or piano libraries.
So if you might be a decent pianist and if you would like a 88 note keyboard to play piano just save yourself the hassle to purchase as you will definitely become returning it.

I got it for my recording studio, to be used with Reaper. Mapping didn’t work I had to setup every thing manualy like it should (for Windows), so.

Great features, good feel of this tips. The steel casing is an option that is excellent.

BUT, center C key has started blocking after only a few hours of continual use! I thougt, possibly it was some nagging problem with my computer or VSTs, however now, after couple of weeks it generally does not work at all! This really is very anoying, because it is one of the most used tips whenever playing. Exactly how can it be even possible that from 25 secrets, one broke nearly immediately? Exactly what buildt quality is?

I am disapointed with this specific brand and do not suggest buying, rather save additional money and purchase something better.
