So after going through more than enough videos and reviews I finally decided to buy myself a Taylor Dreadnought.

Positives-the tone is what you would expect from a full body Dreadnought, present and full, very good sustain and allround a good acoustic sound. I play this guitar through my Fishman Artist and the pickup system sounds very good in my opinion.

The ES2 System really transfers the original sound of the guitar thru the amp…sounds very authentic and not artificial…super. There are however a few points that I am not pleased with.

Negatives- The only thing that annoyed me is the action of the strings, noone can tell me that this is normal…obviousy Taylor cut corners with this aspect, I took the guitar to a guitar tech and he said that this is far from where it should be.He had to remove the nut and and repair it properly. After paying 799 euros I was expecting much much more from a company that has on their Logo(quality guitars)!!! A guitar case would have been nice, anyone who pays this much for a guitar should not have to worry about damage from a bag…sorry Taylor.

These 2 factors are the only thing that I wasnt impressed with, other than that it is a great guitar and I can recommend it, the sound, the tonewoods, the pickup system are top.

After getting the guitar back from the guitar tech the nut was replaced with cow bone and it plays much better now. I wish Taylor would have put more attention into the nut and the action on the guitar. Of course I would recommend this guitar but only if the nut was replaced with quality material, not plastic and the action was better. Just to make a small point on the tone of this guitar….after playing this guitar for over 2 years…this guitar sounds louder and better than other guitars from Taylor…other guitars that cost more than 2-3 thousand euros dont sound as good as this Dreadnought.
I am not saying the other guitars are not good at all all I am saying is a Dreadnought or jumbo has so much more volume and sustain in my opinion and is how a acoustic should sound.

I have been playing this guitar for over 2 years now with 11 gauge strings from Elixir phoshor bronze and decided to change to 12 gauge 12-56 also from Elixir. I was afraid that it would be too much for my fingers since I play in a band and can expect to play over 3 hours for a gig. The tone change was just huge! I really wish I would have changed earlier because the tone is just sooo much better than before. I took it to a Luthier close to where I live and had the bridge lowered a touch since thicker strings put more tension on the guitar top of course. Dreadnoughts need heavy strings to get the full potential out…in my opinion.

Been contemplating a Taylor for a number of year. Finally took the plunge!
A really great guitar…
Light, responsive, low action, narrower neck making easy playing, great tone and volume.
What more can I say.
Awesome
