Comment:

This guitar, as an acoustic instrument is quite nice. It comes with a nice gig bag and it arrived in tune after UPS. First time that happens.

The guitar is flawlessly finished, no fault in it. The strings that come on it are quite bright and have a tension to them that I quite like. Action is actually surprisingly low but fret buzz free.

The electronic part is the big surprise here. Yamaha has come up with some electronic tomfoolery that actually improves on the natural sound of the guitar. It’s addictive. I’m not sure if it’s because the effects are being generated by the body of the guitar, but they add nicely to the acoustic sound. There’s however something a bit strange in your guitar sounding like it has a big concert hall inside it.

The effects have limited control but seem quite nicely setup. I find that keeping both knobs at around 20-30% sounds perfect. Basically if I’m playing it is on. Make sure you have AA rechargeable batteries. The Hall effect however tends to be too much for most things, as the decay is very long and sounds quite bright (a tone control would be great…).

Great guitar.
