Comment:

I wanted an acoustic guitar for recording. I am not mainly an acoustic guitar player, so this would be relegated mostly to chording and some very minor soloing in my recordings.

I didn’t want to spend serious money on a guitar, since it would be a waste on my skills, but this model appeared promising and at an excellent price.

The guitar is very very well made. Frets were perfect, the neck was straight, albeit the action was a bit too high (2.5mm on the low E and 2.25mm on the high E at the 12th fret). It came with Cleartone, but they did suffer from too much finger slide noise (plus they must have been on the guitar for quite some time).

I replaced them with my trusty 13-56 Elixir 80/20 set and I finally got the sound I wanted. To be fair, compared with a friend’s Taylor (in the €2K range) it feels less solid and the low E doesn’t sound as good, but the end result is very, very close.

The wide neck was a bit difficult getting used to (I mostly play electric guitars, superstrats and LPs), but it wasn’t that much of a problem.

The preamp is something I will probably never use, but I’ve tested it and it’s good enough for what it is.

I would easily recommend the guitar even in the €700-800 bracket; for the CHF400 I paid, it’s a steal. Framus means business and they take quality seriously.
