Comment:

Bought this amp for practising at home, special focus on jazz and fusion.

Positive:
– It is fairly simple to get good sounds out of this amp, just alittle tweaking will do.
– Sound quality is quite amazing, really nice and clear sounds.
– Effects are very good and over a wide range.
– Addl benefits are headphone out (silent practising)
– Line6 patch editor free and CuBase LE recording option.
– Have not yet used the looper.
– Lots of connections, incl wireless connection option to guitar usiing special transmitter.
– Sound pressure level at 120 W and 12" speaker is more than enough. Amp if absolutely silent on most patches, no hum.
– Build quality and finish seem quite good (new)

Negatives:
– On headphone it sounds a lot like metal amps etc, but do not overexpect metal or heavy rock over the speaker from such a small low cost amp!
– Missing Bluetootch and/or Wifi
– Hi gain patches canbe/are noisy
– Volume difference between patches so needs adjusting, should be OK our of the box.

Summary: Amazing value and very versatile, I am very pleased with sound quality for type of music I make.

Comment:

I have sold my Musicman 40 years old amp to buy a more versatile amp. It was either this Spider V or a Katana. Since i already owned the FBV3 board, I decided to order thiss one.
Out of the box it worked like a charm. Very good sounds, loud, easy to control both on the front panel and with the FBV3.
Many people told me I was crazy for swapping the Musicman for this amp, but with a couple of hours tweaking and saving to the user memory, I copied the sound of my old guitar amp, but now I got sooooo much more, and no pedals needed…..
In one word, awesome.
