Comment:

I wanted a polyphonic synth with analog character – lightweight, but an excellent sound to accompany my other mostly VA or digital synths. The prologue was absolutely my favourite (of course – this can depend on the kind of noises you adore, I have always been actually into classic synth music like Vangelis) after evaluating a few synths in this budget range and playing YT videos demonstrating the noises.

The Prologue is everything I expected and more. It looks stunning – classic style but with contemporary lines – plus it sounds gorgeous. I have always been also intrigued by the consumer that is programmable and fx – looking forward to see just what should come here… There’s loads of great presets therefore the front panel really makes modifying very easy. A couple of things in how it is possible to quickly do stuff (like favourite a sound) aren’t marked regarding the panel it certainly quickly becomes 2nd nature to get the right buttons, plus the normal sound parameters are often findable which means you do need to learn some stuff but tbh. I just have it – but it currently is like the synth I’ve been looking forward to for a long time!

Comment:

sound shaping on oscillators is amazing. shape on all waveforms. together with the osc that is digital plenty of timbres and can make aggressive and dirty noises.

Tuning seems fine – oscillators go out of tune after a few mins, but you ust recalibrate and all things are dandy.

the most obvious downsides, not enough modulation options (just two evelopes and an individual lfo, with restricted destinations), but for me personally that is fine.

just as with plenty of HW synths, saving patches is super clumsy.. you must save yourself to a temporary slot before saving to a final destination, since you have no method of once you understand which slots are free (set to init) until you change spots. Naming patches can also be annoying and embarrassing.

a poly sequencer would be nice.

however, the drawbacks are mostly just feature choices, and i bought the synth for the tone and noise, and i have always been not at all disappointed. simply sounds really good.
