Neck on the "Deluxe" model is (oddly) less impressive than on cheaper Harley Benton ST62s; it has not the quality gloss finish and the fret ends are a bit spikey. Strange really that the glossy neck wasn’t chosen for this model as it is based on David Gilmour’s white ST which does have a glossy neck. Sloppily, some of the screw holes for attachment of the scratchplate (pickguard) have not been lined up perfectly thus there are screws which sit proud at untidy angles. Quality control has to be questioned as the pickup selector on mine would not select bridge pickup (either alone or with middle) until I fixed it with some switch cleaner and wear.
Well that’s the negative out of the way, now the positive. Plays and feels good, tuners are good quality and hold tune, vibrato bridge is fine and works well. It sounds great, like a real ST which is certainly not a given with even more expensive ST types. Pickups are good, no need to change but if you do then the guitar is a great basis for such experimentation. Other than what I have already pointed out the finish is good, Olympic White being a slightly yellow white somewhere between White and Vintage White. All the gold plate and anodising may not be to everyone’s taste but is in keeping with Gilmour’s ST.
Summarising: as stated above, not quite all it should be but a jolly good instrument at a great price that will suit students and experienced alike. My advice unless you are in love with this model’s finish maybe consider one of the cheaper Harley Benton ST62s instead of this Deluxe.
UPDATE: I’ve now had the scratchplate off to inspect the electronics. Predicatably there is an import type PCB selector rather than a blade type which is fine for me. Very pleasantly surprisingly, the pots are full size (!) and there are two (green) tone capacitors, one for each tone pot both unusual for budget guitars. Perhaps there is more than meets the eye to the "Deluxe" tag.

Oh boy…where do I even start!

Everything about this guitar is perfect…from finishing quality to sound. Anyone who doesn’t have any idea about Harley Benton would never be able to guess how cheap this is. Looks like a $500+ guitar and sounds even better.

I live in Bangladesh and to deliver it here from Germany was a very difficult task but Thomann did it so well. I was very worried that the guitar might break during the process but to my surprise – NOT EVEN A SCRATCH. The package was so well padded. Everything came in PERFECT condition. I will DEFINITELY buy another Harley Benton. 😀
