Did not expect anything but a playable strat, everything looks according with expectations. Great service from Thomann. Did some work on it, like replacing tuning machines with Klusons, proper set-up and frets polishing. These works are a must and give great result .. but still, it had a weird sound on the single coils switch positions from 2 to 5. Humbucker is just fine. I just assumed it is what it is .. until I was messing around and try to make the pickguard to look bit roadworn .. you know, shoe polish mess. Taking a look at the single coils I noticed the code on the back: one has a /M and one had /FR termination. Did a search and find out the M is from middle and FR means Front-Rear ( meaning bridge-neck ). And mine was exactly wrong. Did the change in two steps, realizing later I also need to change the soldering on the switch to match the new positions and .. BANG ! Here comes the Stratocaster sound coming on ! Now I love the strat including ceramic sound. I made this post as someone else may have same problem, without being so lucky to try to make the pickguard looking vintage 😀 Cheers and have fun!
