I received the instrument three days back. I used it for a couple of hours so far, mostly through Guitar Rig on the Mac or clean through a Roland go:mixer. Perfect condition, packed safely in an additional box by Thomann. Good job on that!

I watched many reviews of the Revstars and the RS 620 in particular. The pickups sound like on the demos online, no surprise here. They are wonderful, very happy with the sound. It’s in the Gibson or PRS ballpark but with a twist.

The push/pull dry switch is essentially a high pass filter. Works as advertised, nice to have, but I doubt I’ll be using it a lot. The grease on the push/pull knob left some residue on the body but it was easy to remove with a microfiber cloth dampened with a sprinkle of Ajax.

Speaking of the body, the satin finish looks even nicer in real life than in the pictures. It. Is. Gorgeous. I was worried about how much it would gather fingerprints and such but so far so good. I’ll be keeping the microfiber cloth close by though.

The body provides nice resonance and sustain. It’s on the heavier side but no reason to panic: my particular instrument isn’t even 250g heavier than a Fender Player Strat. The shape is very nice, there is a subtle slant on the top for your forearm, and the belly cut is very ergonomic. The guitar is very well balanced, no neck dive, no stability issues.

Speaking of the neck, it is very pretty. Each of the nacre inlays shimmers differently, the rosewood is nice to the eye and to the touch. The neck’s shape is comfortable as well, the jumbo frets a little surprising for me personally but give nice wiggle room. Should be easy to get used to. By the way, I read that some people experienced rough fret endings. The ones on my particular neck are indeed rather roughly cut but they are not sharp per se, and they don’t stick out. I think the way they’re cut is on purpose, part of the café racer look and feel, alongside the "sawed off" pick guard and the made-for-aging satin finish.

All in all, the guitar is everything I hoped it would be, and then some.

One detail: I immediately swapped the strap holders with Ernie Ball strap locks. If that is your plan as well, note that you can’t use the screws that came with the instrument: the strap lock port needs a screw with a smaller head and a thread that goes all the way.
