I was playing a Fender Squier Stratocaster 2003 for a while and decided it was time for an upgrade. For a while I have been searching for the perfect combination of a Stratocaster and a Gibson guitar as both blues and heavy rock is what I usually play. (a little Iron Maiden pops in, but for who doesn’t it) The Deluxe Roadhouse is the guitar every review said had the most sounds and playability so I decided to try and find it to try it out. Sadly there was nowhere to find it (2020 / 2021), but I checked out the Player, Professional and Performer series from Fender. While the Professional was amazing it was too pricy for me and the others didn’t feel right. Decided to go with the Deluxe and risk it as all the specs sounded amazing. When the guitar came and I started playing, I lost track of time and noticed that 4 hours went by in a flash. If I had to explain it to someone, then it would be like a guitar that has that Clapton (preamp) secret sauce for his solo plays, then this is the guitar for you.

The guitar intonation and action were spot on when it came. It just out of tune, but I guess that’s what happens when you travel half way across the world 🙂 . In my opinion this guitar is better than the Performer and Professional series by a margin.

Pros: tone, neck (the neck feels amazing), preamp sound, locking tuners, noiseless pickups
Cons: lack of color palette

I have been playing Gibson guitars over 50 years and this is my first Fender guitar. This Fender is definitely a change from my old Les Paul, excellent build quality and many tonal changes.
